These are the products I use most frequently in my fitness journey. Usually the best prices are on Amazon, but check local prices just to be sure. If you do decide to purchase anything through the links below a portion of your purchase goes to support my family.
Dumbbells: I have 8 lb; 10 lb; and 15 lb pairs right now and started with a 5 lb pair also. Before ordering, check local prices since these are heavy to ship. And make sure you know whether the listing is for just 1 dumbbell or for a pair.
Kettlebell: This one is optional but nice. I used a dumbbell for my kettlebell moves until recently but love the different grip I can get with a kettlebell. An 8-10 lb kettlebell is about right for healthy women with real fitness goals.
Resistance bands: Holly uses these occasionally in her workouts and they are also awesome for assisted pull-ups. This is the set I use.
Stability Ball: Not optional. If you only get 2 things get a stability ball and a set of 8 or 10 lb dumbbells. These come sized based on your height. If you are between 5 foot and 5 foot 5 get a 55 cm ball. 5 foot 6 to 6 foot 2 you need a 65 cm ball. I have the bigger one so Darren and I can share. I’m 5 foot 6 and he is 6 foot–perfect :).
Medicine Ball: Love my medicine ball! And watching baby Grant try to play with it since it looks like a regular playground ball, lol.
I have a blue Danskin 8 lb ball.
Yoga Mat: This is optional if you have carpeting, but if you have hard floors, a yoga mat is essential for floor stretches, and lying core workouts. While you are working a yoga mat into your budget, you can use a towel or folded up blanket.
Foam Roller: Optional too, but feels really good for working the kinks out of sore muscles. I haven’t exercised with mine yet, just massaged.
